Xfce is a free software desktop for Unix and other Unix-like platforms, such as Linux, Solaris and BSD. The goal: fast, lightweight, visually appealing and easy to use.
The current version, 4.4, is modular and can be used again. It consists of separate components which together provide a full desktop functionality, but these components can also be selected in subsets to create a working environment tailored to the needs of users. Xfce is mainly used for its ability to run a modern desktop on a relatively simple hardware.
Xfce-based toolkit GTK + 2 (same as GNOME). It uses the window manager Xfwm, which are described below. Configuration is entirely driven by the mouse (the mouse), and configuration files are hidden from casual users.

GNOME desktop
The GNOME Project is a project that initially aim to create a computer desktop environment which is easy to use, the software that are considered free by the Free Software Foundation. Currently GNOME is a desktop environment most used by Linux users.
Many software created under the banner of the GNOME project, and some of them released as The GNOME Desktop. Desktop is then combined with other software (such as the kernel) to create a complete system, like GNU / Linux or Solaris from Sun Microsystems.

How to Restoring Grub ubuntu 10.04
Here I want to go back to give one other alternative that you can run to restore grub ubuntu and certainly with a very easy way. And for the first time you use Ubuntu do not find it difficult to advance because only by following the steps below grub ubuntu then you'll be right back.
In a way this time we do not use any software other than the Ubuntu Live CD that we use when installing ubuntu itself. CD ready with the PC? Now we begin to fix grub ubuntu is missing.

Inspired by Minix Linux (operating system developed by Andrew S. Tanenbaum) to develop a Unix-like operating systems (Unix-like) that can be run on a PC. Linux can now run on a variety of other architectures.
When Linus Torvalds, a Finnish student reticent to distribute the source code (source code) floppy-sized Linux kernel via the Internet in 1991, he had no idea that what gave birth to the commencement of a business worth billions of dollars at a later date.

What is Linux?
Linux is the name given to the Unix computer operating system. Linux is one example of the development of free software and open source. Like the free software and other open source in general, Linux source code can be modified, used and redistributed freely by anyone.
The name "Linux" comes from the name of the author, which was introduced in 1991 by Linus Torvalds. The system, equipment and system libraries generally come from the GNU operating system, which was announced in 1983 by Richard Stallman. The GNU contribution is the basis of the alternative name GNU / Linux.
